This week we are selling the contents of the home of Milton Watts, a well-known aviation pioneer from Woodland, and founder of Watts Woodland Airport. He recently passed away at age 102, and leaves behind a legacy, especially in the aviation community. He learned to fly prior to World War II, and during the war was a flight instructor and pilot for the US Navy. He and his brother Vern returned to Woodland after the war and worked as crop-dusters. Vern died in an airplane accident in 1950. Milt went on to purchase Wegger's Aviation, which included the airport that was renamed Watts Woodland Airport. He later started Woodland Aviation, which became one of the premier Beechcraft Airplane Dealers in the country. Today, Milt's son Bruce operates Watts Woodland Airport, and it is one of the longest continually operating private airports in the United States.
Milt and his wife Dorothy built this home in 1961 and raised their family here. There are some treasures, including beautiful Mid-Century furniture, tools, vintage electronics, art from known artists, Sterling Silverware, jewelry and much more.
Please don't bid if you can't make it to the Saturday pickup, we have to get the place cleaned out Saturday.
