Purchased new in 1963 by the seller’s father. 63 Mercedes 230SL Convertible, with removable hard top. 4 Speed manual transmission, with the original inline 6 motor with factory fuel injection. Seller began a restoration 20+ years ago, and took apart the interior. The running gear was not removed and is all intact. It has been garaged ever since, and has not been outside. It needs a windshield, rear window, and the interior done. The door panels and piece for the top of dash are in the trunk - see pics. It looks like most of the chrome and interior pieces are here, but could easily be missing a few. The odometer shows 64,056 and the family believes it is the actual, original mileage because it was driven sparingly by the late father. The body is exceptionally clean, with no dents found. The paint is also very nice, only found a small chip on the front middle of the hood, see pics. No obvious rust or rot found, and the floorboards are solid. The front and rear chrome strips both have dings. There doesn’t seem to be a complete set of matching hubcaps and beauty rings, and there are some extras. Clean title, buyer will be given the signed California (Old Style) Pink Slip, signed by the Administrator of the Estate, but the Administrator’s Credentials (DMV will require) will not be ready for two weeks. They will be sent to the Buyer when ready. Has not been registered since the early 1990’s so likely well out of the dmv system. It is in a garage with a very steep driveway, and will be a bit of a challenge to trailer out. The tow vehicle will need to be 4x4, even though it is paved. The front tires are flat and do not hold air, they are on rollers, and all 4 rollers are included. This could be a beautiful car without a full restoration. Buyer will be contacted to arrange a time to pick up, will be difficult during the regular pickup time.
