The box is very well made by H. Gerstner & Sons. It is all Oak, with leather covering over the outside. The upper section has two levels that fold out. The cover for the drawers slides below. It is packed with precision woodworking tools, it was the builder’s main toolbox used to build the wooden ships that are in this auction. Closed, the box is 15” high, 16” wide and 9.25” deep. The magnifying lamp works, and includes extra round neon tubes. It has a heavy base, and stays in many positions.
