Description:
  • This car was driven into this garage in 1971 by Phil Angelides, and has not moved since. His father bought the car new in 1963. It is a 1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85 Convertible, with the aluminum V8 215 CID engine, and floor shift automatic transmission. It has 57,133 miles on the odometer. It is all original, and appears to be 100% complete, including all 4 original hub caps, the original radio, every piece of chrome, and even has the owner’s manual and convertible top instructions in the glove box. We did not attempt to start it. All we did was put new tires on it, roll it out, wash it and wipe down the interior. The boy is fairly clean, with a dent at the front of the right front fender, and a and a scrape about a foot long starting at the back of the RF fender and continuing onto the passenger door. It also has a small dent below the gas filler door. Tried to get all in pics. The black interior is also very nice. The seats are a little sticky from sitting so long, but will scrub up. The passenger seat has some wear, but the door panels, carpets and rest of the interior are nice. The top also appears to be in usable condition, but a front section where it meets the windshield is deteriorating. There are some small rust spots along the front of the hood and front fenders, where the front chrome piece attaches, see pics. No other rust found, including in the floorboards which are solid. There are a number of chips in the paint along the driver’s side below the chrome strip, see pics. Probably from something in the garage. The chrome has some light pitting, and will polish up. There is some discoloration on the trunk, probably from things being set on it over the years. This car has been sitting here for a long time, it was running when Phil parked it here at the end of summer break from Harvard (see sticker in back window). The next time anyone tried to start it, the battery was dead and it was never started again. There are no keys, they could not be found, so we were unable to get into the trunk. The floor shifter is in neutral, and the steering is not locked, so it can be rolled around. The brake was stuck all the way up, when pressed hard it went all the way to the floor, so the master cylinder is bad. We were also unable to turn the motor by pushing on the fan belt and turning the fan. The original title could not be found, but there is a registration card from 1974 (Total fees - $14.00!) showing it in the seller’s name. The buyer will be given an application for duplicate title and other documents, signed by the Trustee, along with a Death Certificate, which will be sufficient to transfer title. It has not been registered since 1974, so is likely way out of the DMV System. The VIN Number is 631C08004 (from back when they were only 9 digits). Buyer can back a trailer right up to it. Rare to find one this well preserved.
