Does not fire. The outside is metal and the magazine is missing. This is a later replica that was never meant to fire. The barrel end is filled and painted red. The bolt slides back and forth, but there isn't a firing mechanism. Looks authentic from a few feet away, and is the actual size of the MP40. The top of the back of the action has MP 40 Stamped, over mgc68.  UPDATE - Found the Magazine. Pictures to follow.

This is not a toy and looks real. It can be very dangerous if misused. It can easily be mistaken for a working assault rifle by law enforcement.
