Matches the bench in Lot 55. Owner tells us the wood for these benches is Old Growth Redwood that was 'Eco Salvaged' from Big River in Mendocino, and had been submerged in the river since at least 1876. It is mineralized and harder with a deeper, darker color than typical Redwood. The wood was then used by a furniture maker to make these two benches, at a cost of over $3,000 for the pair. Each is very well made and in excellent condition with waxed finish, and wooden pegs used for construction. Each bench seat is curved and about 18" high. They are 67" wide, and the backs are 38" high. Could be used indoors or out. Both are beautiful and in excellent condition.
The wood was purchased from www.RedwoodSalvageSales.com. The pieces were built by a furniture craftsman in Mendocino, CA.
