This is an authentic U.S. Government Land Grant dated April 9, 1881 deeding 160 acres near Sacramento, CA to an heir of a 1st Lieutenant in the Kentucky Volunteers, who served during the Mexican-American War. It is signed for President James Garfield by his secretary. Has the U.S. Presidential Seal
The land was granted to Mary Dugan, as an heir to William Barbour. Mary Dugan is a great great grandmother of the seller
Measures just under 16" x 10"
Has some folds but is intact, legible, and in very good condition
