Headboard and footboard are sleigh style with wrought iron in middle of outer wood frame. Mattress is a Simmons Beautyrest. No smells, but light stains at lower end not visible in pictures. Mattress is about 62" wide and about 80" long. One side rail has a spot about 5" long where some veneer has peeled. Some dirt along edges of mattress from moving, may clean off.
