A rare 1896 Kreg 30-40 Carbine, made in 1897 at the Springfield Armory, with the correct bayonet. It has the saddle ring on the side of the stock, and on the bayonet sheath. Stamped U.S. Model 1896, Springfield Armory, 77514 on the left side of the action. The stock has the 3 cleaning rods inside. It is in good original condition, with nice patina on the stock and only light wear on the bluing. Overall it is just over 41” long, with a 22” barrel. The Bayonet is sharp, and doesn’t mount on the rifle, the barrel doesn’t have the mount for a bayonet, it was made to be carried on the belt. It has what appears to be the original leather sheath with belt loop and saddle ring. The blade is stamped 1896 on one side of the base, and US on the other side. It is just over 16” long, and the blade is about 11.5”. No FFL required, due to age. Includes a takedown guide.
