The black lamp has some duct tape on it at the middle of the pole and also looks like it has some hot glue or something added at the base of the upright. The gold one does not have any of those issues, but both of these have had the connector piece where the plug plugs into the lamp pushed in. It connects fine, but it is pushed in so takes a little bit of effort to connect. Both are tested and working and are LED lights. These are not perfect, but both can be very functional.
