Description:
  • Has a note at the bottom to Rear Admiral E.S. Miller, the father of the owner of this estate. Signed C.W. Nimitz, Fleet Admiral, USN. The handwriting and signature are in pen. The photo is of Admiral Nimitz signing the Japanese Surrender aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, on September 2, 1945
  • Also has a copy of the same picture on back with a number and name for each officer pictured, including Admiral Sherman, Admiral Halsey, and General MacArthur, who are standing right behind Admiral Nimitz as he signs the document
  • The outside of the frame is about 15" x 12". Wood frame with a layer of clear plastic over the top and a hard back
  • Very good condition, and a significant historical piece
  • Also includes a photo of what appears to be an atomic bomb test at the Marshall Islands after WW II. The photo is aged, and is 10.5" x 8.5" on the outside, in a thin wood frame.
