Both are made to hold coins. Both are cast iron, made in two halves. They are older but not antique. The dog bank is marked China, no markings found on the other bank. When the dog’s tail is pulled, his mouth opens. When a coin is inserted the tail is released, and the coin falls inside. The cat bank works by locking down the cat with the little tray. When a coin is set on the tray, and the latch on the right side is pressed, the cat swings over and puts the coin into the little chimney where it falls below. The cat is about 8” long, the dog is about 7” with tail.
