Description:
  • The standard issue for rifle for the British Infantry during World War I, complete with what appears to be the correct Bayonet. Stamped Enfield 1918 SMLE III on the ring around the stock under the back of the bolt. Also stamped 265Z on both the Bolt Handle and on the Receiver.  There is light stamp on the wooden stock that appears to be 114. No Serial Number Found, see pics for any other marks found. There is channel for the cleaning rod from the back of the stock, but no cleaning rod found. The bayonet fits well and includes the Sheath. It is stamped with a B over 4774 at the base of the bayonet handle, which also has some marks at the base of the blade, see pics. The peep sight is all intact. Overall complete and in good condition. The barrel is about 25”, overall the rifle is 44.5” long without the bayonet. With the Bayonet attached, it is about 61.5” long. The bayonet itself is just under 22” long, with a blade just under 17”. PLEASE DON'T BID UNLESS YOU UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING:

They will oversee the required transfer, background check, and 10 day waiting period required by law. They have this firearm and it is available for viewing, by appointment during their normal business hours, which are Daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. except closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. The DROS Process must be started within 30 days of the close of the auction, or the gun will be resold

 

In addition to the purchase price of the firearm, the buyer will be required to pay directly to Woodland Firearms a Background Check fee of $37.19, and a Long Gun fee of $83.00 There will also be a 10-day waiting period starting when the background check paperwork is complete, until the buyer can take possession of the firearm. There are also several other rules to be aware of prior to bidding, including:

  • The firearm buyer must pass a safety test to obtain a Firearm Safety Certificate, or hold a valid California Hunting License. (Unless they are Active-Duty Military, Peace Officer, etc.). Woodland Firearms can administer this test, and issue the Firearm Safety Certificate for a fee of $25.00.

  • In most cases you need a Real ID to purchase a firearm. A Driver’s License is usually not sufficient, unless you also have a certified copy of your Birth Certificate. A current passport will also work.
