Description:

The table includes 2 extra leaves. Includes 2 captain style chairs with arms and 6 regular chairs. All chairs have carved leather backs and seats. The table has detailed hand carved designs in bottom.  Owner tells us this has been in her family since the 1940's, and was purchased in Brazil. It was brought to the US in 2001. Very well made of Brazilian Walnut (Imbuia). The table surface is 30.5" high. Without any extra leaves, it is 41" wide and 48" long. Each leaf is 13.75" wide, so with a single leaf the surface is 41" x 61.75". With both extra leaves it is 41" x 75.5". The seat height of each chair is 18". The top of the regular chair backs is 44.5" high. The top of each Captain's Chair is 47.5" high. Each chair has a cover - see pics. One of the extra leaves was made later, and is made of laminated wood, the rest is all solid wood. The original leaf is slightly warped, and both leaves need minor repair to the dowels. Some of the finish is worn on one corner of the surface, and one of the leather pieces is cracked behind the seat of a chair, but still useable as is. Two of the chairs have had the leather repaired behind the seat, and matching tacks added. One chair has a piece missing from a foot - see pics. There are also some minor scuffs and chips from age. Well made, detailed, and in very good condition. Owner believes this set dates to the 1920’s or earlier. A unique, beautiful, and very well made set.
