Description:

French foot artillery sword (short sword) from the Civil War era. Although it's marked CS (Confederate States), seller tells us that France did not provide swords to the Confederate states during the civil war. The sword makers marks appear to be authentic, but the CS might have been placed there to pass it off as a Confederate sword, or it could be a manufacturing sample?
Sword and scabbard measures 25.75" in length and sword measures 25.25" in length.
